With the Shuga Trilogy well and truly aired, and the Behind the Scenes exposed, we thought now would be a perfect time to announce that we have a competition only for the biggest Shuga fans out there.
While we are considering whether to make another show in Kenya, a sequel to Shuga or even a prequel, (Star Wars style), we would like You guys to give us as many ideas as possible as to what we should do.

Ayira .. the realestr defination of a go getter .. fav scene? umm when she grabs daddy’s laptop n threat’ns 2 … as collateral ..
Leo, he presents the today youth who though they are aware of HIV/AIDS (ways of contraction, prevention, complications) and all they still get influenced by their mates just so they fit in, but Leo is also a determined guy, he realises his mistake and seem to have learnt his lesson; he knows what he wants that he makes sure he gets it.

In the poor bar where the guys (Skola, Leo, and Kennedy) come clean with each other and discuss their affairs, which is usually lacking especially among females, and when Leo was the laughing stock for having used protection and that he was circumcised but it also stood as a learning point for his friends. their discussion also leads them to making the important decision of getting tested.
I cried when Leo kissed Virginia in the park. However, after watching Shuga severally, I really liked all the scenes with Ty in it. Particularly, the first scene with him and Ayira. The way he looked at her, spoke to her and even of her (in the club scene, “No more greasy take-aways,I have my Wahu”) showed how much he loved and respected her. Later, he proved this by being there to hold her hand (literally) in the most trying moment of her life, even after she betrayed his trust.
As for favourite character(s): Kennedy provided wonderful comic relief; Leo for making my heart stop every time; Schola for “The morning after the night before”; Cindi for “You slept with him, surely you can talk to him!”; Ha, ha, ha, Virginia’s “I hate you!” in that sweet voice; and most of all, Ty and Ayira as a couple.
Ty was my favorite character because he was a one woman man in a meaningful relationship and faithful to his girlfriend. He loved her enough to propose to her which proved how serious he was about her. Also in the end he forgave her for her foolishness and am sure they eventually get married and live happily ever after. He represented the kind of man that every woman would like to have. I truly fell in love with his character.

I love shuga,it’s toon real for life and it leaves one thinking about their life and where it’s going.I like Valerie Kimani especially in the part where she is looking out for her friends lupita and the other tall chic who go sleeping around with everyone and anyone without using a condom…abstinence is the best option to keep yourself sexually pure and know your stand and status!
My favorite scene…when Ayira tells Ty the truth…my heart went out to her and to him, and I think the integrity behind the whole scene reflects what so many of us have to do, in making right the fact that we have been having multiple concurrent relationships: tell the truth and make things right, if the love is there, things will work themselves out right
And second best: “I love you Nairobi” because i actually do love Nairobi!!!!
Violet rocks she is the queen of the entire series, she is beautiful and knows it, she can have anyone she wants and she knows it and she is confident about her sexuality and how she exposes it and rules the world.
any one who hates violet is a mega loser with no sex life, and bitter, so not sexy

Honey, let me interpret that to our viewers so you are saying I will not have sex coz im ugly and no one wants me, pure? sweetie no human being is pure, we all commit unorthodox sins like talk to UGLY people, pretend we care about their misfortune, tell an ugly person they have inner beauty to compensate their ugliness
tell them they look great when they look like they just jumped the nearest homeless person and wore their clothes.
I loved the scene where Kennedy, Skola and Leo agree to go to the VCT togther. This is what true friends do together, making sure that they look out ofr one another.
Also, the part where he gets Leo talking to … what’s her name again, the gal who is HIV+ and reminds him they need to go see Skola’s folks as they look for Skola – and when Leo comes back to kiss the gal goodbye-see-you-later.
In as much as maybe Kennedy didn’t know how to run the Campus radio show, he stepped in for Skola and that was true friendship.
First of all…shuga is tha illest!!! My fav character is schola and my favourite scene happens to be the one he gets back to the studio and announces his posistive status on air. That has to be the bravest not to mention close to unbelieveable thing any sane person in university would do. It is my favourite because he comes out strongly to assert that finding out about his + ve status is just a start and not an end.
I love the casting done on this show. Very well done to the casting team. My favorite character was Violet. This is the first portrayal of some of the women that prowl these mean streets. Too many real flesh and blood women live as she portrays in this day and age. This is by far the most honest character in this show as shows some of us at our “ugliest.” We need this character to remind us of this person in our society.
As for my favourite scene I have to vote for one that I have seen too many times… A drunken lady screaming “I loving you Nairobi!” Good stuff.

I love the synergy and the support that every clique of friends offers each other and I have to say that the trio of Kennedy- mr funny guy, Leo-mmmmmmmh and Schola- BadGood guy offer.
As a gal, I have learnt that in order to make it in life and as far as HIV/AIDS is concerned, we have to be a support platform to each other and watching it from USA made me so proud of been Kenyan!
I especially loved the part when the boys gave each other psyche to go and get tested and when Sindi was doing her laundry and Violet needed a shoulder to lean on! A friend should always remain a friend even when one has messed up no matter what!
All of my friends in States all were learning new slang from the show thanks to Kennedy – Nikundialala! I hope he trademarks that word coz its a buzz in Lafayette where I am currently schooling! I hope to get that same comic relief from Shuga2!
Kennedy, Leo, Scholar, Violet, Sindi, Ty, Felix, Virginia and Ayira have to all be a part of Shuga 2! Without them, then it’s a let down to each ane every fan out there, because they all hold and play very great role for we all one way or another identify with them!

My favorite character happens to be Violet because she is somebody we all can relate to pretty well. Full of life, looking for excitement and fun, going all out without thinking about later. And like her we’ve all done stupid things because they seemed like a good idea at the time (lol so we thought in our intoxicated state).
Vio then – just like many of us – realizes she messed up and now has to own up to it. Face the music so to say and go get tested. So I love her for that strength she then has – admiting she fucked up. Trying to make it right now.
The scene before it is my favorite one though – when Vio talks to Sindi outside the flat. Vio is all stressed and confused. She is looking for a friend to help her through this, literally holding her hand to give her strength. We all have and will always relay on friends to give us strength in times of need. If we were to not have a shoulder to lean on, a friend like Sindi, life would become pretty horrible!
So this moment of Vio realising that Sindi is not turning away from her, the relief she feels, this moment of friendship was very powerful. GREAT job by Sharon and Valeri btw!

The greatest scene for me is when Ayira told to Ty the truth, you have to be strong when you love, and more strong to tell the truth to the one you love, because you know that him or her can leave you for ever. That is a good lesson about sincere in love.
Ty was my favourite character because he’s the kind of man, you wan to have as friend, one who can give you good advice when you need one, constant in relationship with his girl friend. He know that it could being him having an affair with an other girl, and in that case we all hope to be forgiven, Ty represent somebody we all wan be.
Most important is to forgive.

My favourite character was Ty. The fact that he was faithful to his girl even when she wasn’t and especially the fact that he wanted to make it work with her after finding out. That was love right there and i relate to it completely.
My favourite scene was that where Ayira met Ty after her ‘cheating rounds’ and Ty was so happy to meet her, but when he tries to kiss her,she pulls away and says that there is someone else. That to me was the climax! I felt every bone in me and my heart just waiting to know what would happen next. There was a lot of emotion right there! A lot!
My favourite scene in Shuga is the reaction Schola has when he discovers he is HIV+. The depression he goes through, the sadness, the hopelessness, the disappointment and what he chooses to do with these emotions after. This sends out a message to all HIV+ people out there that its ok to feel sad, depressed and alone. Its only human. Its what you choose to do after that determines how productive your life will be.

my favourite part is when scola found out that he was HIV positive. He really played the part well because thats what many peole do when they findout there positive, drink, drink and more drinking to wash the sorrows. But eventually Scola came in and admitted it to the world.That clearly showed how strong and courageous he was, he actually made me cry!!!
my favourite character is Scola,and Ayira.They executed thier parts really well. BUt that doesn’t mean the other characters didn’t do a good job, they were amazing.
